Pearl,
I haven’t the words to express my joy at seeing the birth of this blog. I couldn’t decide whether to laugh or cry, so I sit here laughing with tears streaming down my cheeks.
This is beautiful in so many ways.
Miss D
One thing, I am curious to know why you kept the name ‘oracleofthepearl’?
Pearl, that’s me.
But pearls–I can’t pretend to fathom all their ways.
I’d like to answer your question completely, but I’d likely mangle my answer. So I’ll try for some bit of it.
A tiny part of that lies in my tagline.
Oracle has many meanings, interpretations. Much that has special meaning for me.
I will say one way of reading the word is as “shrine”. I’ve built myself a floating one here, for my secrets to live in. So far I’ve managed to round a few of these up, and I can be with them when I come. I can share them with you, who cares to see, how they care to be seen.
I so thank you for sharing some of it with me. It is an honor.
Truly.
Your secrets will always be alive in this oracle. You know Pearl, when someone says blogging is virtual, it pinches me. We share ourselves here, we write about our life, our feelings, then why they call it virtual? Is our life virtual?
Some folks like virtual.
For me, this is where the real stuff is.
I guess what we bring, is what it is.
Like “real life” too, maybe.
Pearl, I’ve been reading through your blog since yesterday (after seeing you appear here and there in the blogosphere of my friends). Your username “oracleofthepearl” was what intrigued me at first because my real-life name means “Pearl”.
And I’m glad I decided to visit you because I simply love what you’ve written! They’re beautiful! I will drop individual comments now and then
Psst! You wouldn’t mind if I place a link back to you in my blogroll, would you? Hugs to you for being another creative soul!
glaize, thank you so much for visiting, for reading my words. Thank you for the compliments, I sincerely feel honored.
And of course, delighted to be on anyones blogroll!
I hesitate to say how long it has been since I have written, til now, because you would think me older than dirt. But it has been what is a lifetime for some.
It, writing, just…stopped.
This blog is the beginning of a kind of restoring of a soul, a finding [again] of a voice, a mending of a heart. The one I broke when I lost my words.
It is a gift to myself that I will open for as long as I can, where I find an entire tribe of others who show me the true beauty of this gift, who also open it, receive it, wrap it up beautifully, give it back. Everyday.
To you, strangers found not, thank you for this gift of beauty, ugliness, my truth. My voice.
Something is remarkable about you… something pure.. something pristine… every word written is beautiful.. and shaped with rhymes and your thoughts… truly soothing… it’s an uncanny ability to express your feelings… and that to in such a fabulous way… these poems.. these lines… they have some hope in it.. something that inspires.. no one can do that… I’m glad there are people like u… somehow I feel you are that beautiful at your heart too…
I’m glad I came across these pages and specially your blog… do keep writing…
cheers…
Welcome back! Missed the thoughts and heart in your words. Please never stop. You inspire and enlighten with the beauty you place here.
You go girl!
Miss D
Hoping you are well. I think of you.
Ah! More well now at seeing you!
-Pearl
dear oracle, thanks for your encouraging comments. x
And thank you.
Thankyou so much for reading my words, and the lovely comment made. I shall return here often…
Reah xx
Thank you Reah! I will return to read more of you as well!

My “disclaimer” is taken from a dialogue from one of the first Offspring cds. I just adjusted it so it applied to a literary nature and not musical. It was their sarcastic jab at being forced to put “Parental Advisory” stickers on their cds thanx to Al Gore’s wife Tipper way back when. Very few people remember or realize that is why they have warning stickers on music cds now. Of course later they started putting them on video games. Personally I think if a “parent” is being responsible enough and got their children out from behind the TV and doing something besides getting exercise by riding motorized petal cars around the cul-de-sac they wouldn’t have to put them on anti-depressants by the time they turn 7 just being…. Kids. Feel free to use the “disclaimer” anyway you choose. It would make a good bumper sticker for some drivers over the holiday weekend m?
Why Charles, I do indeed remember.
Of course, everything is for our own SAFETY, for we are no longer expected to use our brains for powers of discretion, common sense, reasoning, or personal responsibility. Or even for not turning into oncoming traffic to enter a business reasonably.
But I was visualizing a T-shirt…..perhaps I only need one that says simply “Disclaimer”.
I enjoyed my visit, I believe I have been here before. You have been blessed with the gift of words… Just curious how you publish your work… time wise. The dates are not in order… interested. Thank you and have a great weekend
enreal–Thank you for your comments and compliments!
I’ve been away, so am seeing them a bit late; sorry for taking so long to approve them. [And yes, I did have a great weekend!]
I have Black Pearl set permanently on the front page, as a “sticky”-it stays there even when I have a new post. So it appears as my last post to many people, even though it’s dated earlier than the next post. I suppose I should change it, but I just like it so much. Still, it does throw people off…
Thank you again for visiting!
–Pearl
you’ve been awful quiet lately. hm.
Charles–LOL. Hardly. But quiet here, yes.
Life is amazing. Everywhere I look, a small miracle being played out. For once, I wonder if I have the words to capture any of it. But you know, sooner or later I’ll have to try, won’t I? Some of us just can’t keep from that.
Thanks for checking in–I’ve peeked in your window here and there as well.

A “Necessary Other”…
These 3 words hold full index of your life and intellect.
Excellent.
